As a beginner, I have been taking private yoga classes with Phyllis consistently twice a week for the past 6 months.  I had no idea I would love yoga as much as I do now.  Being an active runner, cyclist and Ultimate Frisbee player, my hips and hamstrings are very tight and yoga gives me what I need to de-stress and feel great.  I enjoy and get a lot out of the personal one on one instruction from Phyllis.  I love her positive energy and her soothing voice.  Since working with her, I have already experienced a change in my strength and flexibility.  Even my partner has complimented me on the increased definition of my arms!  I would recommend Phyllis’s private lessons because she is able to challenge me, yet leave me feeling calm and relaxed.  I always feel great when I leave her class.

I am grateful to have found Phyllis’ yoga class at the Robert Lee YMCA back in February 2011. I have been coming to her class at 6:30 AM on Monday mornings every week only missing it when I’ve been too busy with work. However, with her guidance, I have a sequence I practice when I can’t make it in to class. Since coming to her class, I have realized that hatha flow is the style for me as it helps me start the day and the week off right. Through the practice of yoga, I have become more conscious and aware of my body, breath and mind and I hope to continue to practice for years to come.
